Tisa Neža Herlec (Ljubljana, SI) prioritizes content over form. Working with different media - lately with a focus on performative and linguistic practices, mainly using her voice. In her practice she conducts experiments in improvisation, articulation, composition, collectivity and collaboration, always paying careful attention to communication and the evolution of an artistic research process. This fuels the curatorial part of her practice, writing and organising collective processes. She feels responsibility and strives to establish mechanisms of mutual empowerment, support, solidarity and the exchange of ideas and knowledge. She sees sensibility and empathy as fundamental tactics of being, consolidating and intervening. Networks, systems of thinking and methodologies bring her excitement and so do inspired people. Art is for her a fertile ground for the cross-pollination of ideas and the construction of propositions, aiming towards the betterment of all spheres of life.

Since 2015, she is a part of the Modri kot collective, a space in the Autonomous Rog Factory in Ljubljana.
With a background in fine arts (Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Dijon, France) and a completed minor program in art and technology (Minerva Academie, Groningen, Netherlands), she now pursues her master studies in Experimental Publishing at Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She actively exhibits and performs in Slovenia and abroad - individually and as a part of collective projects.
